ZELEX is a series-driven brand, not one material/specification
ZELEX's own timeline shows why brand-only comparisons are too shallow. The company currently distinguishes SLE, Inspiration and Fusion product families, with multiple revisions over time. Its official guide says SLE uses a balanced medium-soft material system, Inspiration offers standard and optional ultra-soft silicone, and Fusion defaults to an ultra-soft direction.
That means a buyer should write down the series, revision, body code, head code and skeleton before comparing prices. “ZELEX silicone” is not specific enough.

Ang 165 cm
Ang is listed at 165 cm and 80 lb (36 kg), currently $2,599 sale / $2,799 regular. It is a useful premium ZELEX reference because it sits in the brand's silicone-oriented ecosystem and forces the right question: are premium material/detail and frame options worth managing an 80 lb body?
The EXP skeleton is a meaningful ZELEX differentiator—when included
ZELEX's official documentation describes its EXP skeleton with a ball-joint neck, extended shoulder movement and other articulation changes. The company says it is default on certain series and optional on others. That distinction matters: do not pay a comparison premium for “ZELEX articulation” without checking whether your exact body actually ships with EXP.
Advanced range of motion also creates more handling responsibility. Move joints within the maker's guidance and do not treat a more articulated frame as permission to force extreme positions.
Strengths, limitations and who should cross-shop
ZELEX strengths: clearly differentiated modern series, detailed manufacturer documentation, premium silicone/material development and a sophisticated skeleton roadmap. Limitations: full-size examples can be heavy; series names/generations create specification complexity; and premium configurations can become expensive quickly.
Ideal buyer: someone who has already decided that premium material/detail and articulation matter enough to justify the price and handling. Poor fit: someone optimizing for the lowest cost, minimal maintenance expense or the lightest full-size product.
