ZELEX becomes especially compelling if you are already willing to pay premium-silicone prices and can safely manage the weight. In that case, the question is no longer “is TPE cheaper?” but “which ZELEX series and skeleton configuration delivers the features I will actually use?”

Surface detail, softness and maintenance

Do not reduce the comparison to “WM is soft, ZELEX is realistic.” WM now spans TPE, S-TPE, silicone and hybrid builds, while ZELEX itself uses multiple softness/material systems. The real distinction is how much maintenance you accept and what material response you prefer.
